Project Rising Spirit won’t know what hit them and by the looks of the last page of Bloodshot #5, neither will Bloodshot.
Swierczynski continues to impress with his art of story telling. Subtle hints about Bloodshot’s past are hidden through out this issue, as well as more than a few panels foreshadowing the future of our favorite mindwiped, weapon of mass destruction.
The backstory of Bloodshot’s former would be assassin, Pulse, is another focal point of this issue and gives a sense that there’s more to this young woman than we were initially lead to believe. Then there’s Kara Murphy’s story. How will her relationship with Bloodshot affect the vigilante’s life path after (hopefully) taking down Project Rising Spirit, or will she be another unfortunate casualty of Bloodshot’s crusade?
Garcia and Lozzi’s art is one again bathed in bright colors, elaborate pages and tons of gore soaked conflict. Does anyone else think Dr Kuretich looks like one of the early Drs from Dr Who?
The first chapter of Bloodshot’s second story arch is already packed with action and intensity. Swierczynski continues to craft a beautiful story and has more than gotten myself hooked on this title.
Bloodshot’s creative team continues to deliever an action packed, solid story and are well deserving of a 10 out of 10.
