The Congress of Corruption Tour rolled through Carter Lake on a chilly fall night in 2006, delivering one of that year’s strongest heavy metal and hard rock lineups. The short lived Cement Shoes Records used the tour to showcase a few of its early roster.
“We are excited about the launch of the label and couldn’t have thought of better bands to do this with,” says Cement Shoes Records president Dan Catullo.
“All three bands have proven themselves to be solid rock acts with amazing songs and live shows. It is our intention with this tour to kick people’s asses in each city and give them an insane metal/rock show that will blow the doors off most arena shows. Cheap ticket price, with an incredible production. It is time that people pay attention to ILL NIÑO, GODHEAD and RA. The rock revolution is coming, and our bands will be riding the wave at the forefront.”

The Dreaming, fronted by Stabbing Westward’s Christopher Hall, opened the night with a dark, atmospheric set that quickly won over the crowd. Godhead’s industrial edge and Ra’s melodic hard rock provided a perfect build-up before Ill Niño closed the evening with their signature blend of crushing riffs, Latin percussion, and relentless energy.
In the intimate confines of Chez Paree, the tour’s arena-sized production felt even more intense, making this a memorable stop during Cement Shoes Records’ ambitious effort to introduce its artists to fans through the power of live performance.
