Heavy Metal on a Monday? In Omaha, Nebraska? I bet you thought Nebraska was nothing but cornfields. This may come as a shock to you, but we do know how to form a circle pit, and Nebraskans have mastered the art of head-banging.
Tonight would also be Plush’s debut Omaha performance, and their second in Nebraska since their 2021 stop in Lincoln with Mammoth WVH. If you drug your feet and missed Plush’s set then you missed out. While still a relatively new band, these young ladies have cross-crossed around the globe with the likes of Halestorm, Evanescence, Alice In Chains, and Breaking Benjamin. Don’t let them slip under your radar. I guarantee Plush will move from an opener to a headliner this year.
Falling In Reverse played too but I’m still pissed about Radke’s day-of cancel last year in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and all the garbage comments he’s made over the past few years about the LGBTQIA+ Community.
Its been a while since Disturbed have graced Omaha with their presence. While the band made a stop in Lincoln in 2019 for the Evolution Tour, they’ve not set foot in Omaha since 2011, and fans were rabid for their return.
Disturbed brought us into the fire for tonight’s show. The “Take Back Your Life” tour has been going strong in the US, and Canada, along with a stint in Europe, since April of 2023. 2024 marked the second leg of the band’s tour, once again criss-crossing the US.
Its more than just a concert with Disturbed, its a gathering of like minded fans sharing a special experience. The band’s set list was also more fan favorites, rather than a greatest hits tour. Even after 25+ years of touring, you can tell these men are still enjoying their jobs, loving every minute on stage, and sharing their love of music with the world.
Its been such an amazing journey having been able to watch Disturbed go from that opening regional band in 1999 to the headliner that plays in front of tens of thousands of screaming fans today. Here’s to many more years.
