METRIC: Here We Go

October 15, 2013
Letter To You,
Today is the last day of one thing and the first day of another. I spent Sunday evening with Jimmy, Joshua and Joules, beloved friends and family and a dog called Scout, celebrating Canadian Thanksgiving and preparing for the next three months on the road which will take us all across the USA to Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and beyond.
We sit, we talk, we stand, there are speeches of gratitude and many goodbyes. It’s a feeling we’ve felt before and want to feel again. We’re excited, it’s confusing leaving home, it’s the life we made and the life that made us. In the midst of this evening, I created a corner for myself to write you a letter, feeling strangely as I do the pull of that unnamable connection that remains between us all these years.
If you’re reading this, you already know that everything I want to tell you is in the lyrics, and anything we want to show you is in the music. So there’s nothing to say except that we’ve missed you and it feels good to be back.
Much respect and thanks for keeping things interesting.
love always, emily
