If you thought the life path Pete Stanchek choose to follow took a detour last issue, Harbinger #6 puts our future renegades back on track and sets into motion a series of events that will forever change their lives. Focusing more on Kris Hathaway this issue, Dysart shows us that it’s not just the superpowered who can play the Harbinger game. After being found by Stanchek’s guardian angel, Faith Herbert, Hathaway comes to the realization that true evil does exist in the world, hiding behind the faces of everyday citizens. Whether or not she wants to play, Kris is a pawn in Harada’s game. Having a real life and family, Kris has more to sacrifice that Stanchek ever dreamed of, making her choices more critical and her middle finger to Harada all the more damning.
The Harbinger Foundation isn’t the only group hunting Stanchek and his crew, Project Rising Spirit also wants Stanchek and doesn’t care who they have to take out to get to him. Readers aren’t even a year into the new Valiant Universe and already the puzzle pieces of each issue are falling into place and bringing to life the Universe’s bigger picture. Does this mean we’re soon to see Toyo Harada’s role in why Project Rising Spirit needed to be created? With so many mention of PRS in the pages of Harbinger and The Harbinger Foundation mentioned in Bloodshot, what common threads do these underground operations have in common and how will this effect future story archs in both titles? Only time will tell.
Forget about the less that uncanny teams, it’s titles like Valiant Entertainment’s Harbinger that need to find their way onto your pullfile.
