11 Tracks | Just Under 22 Minutes

Swedish hardcore outfit thrown doesn’t waste time getting its point across. Their latest release, UNWANTED, delivers 11 tracks of relentless aggression in just under 22 minutes. No unnecessary buildup, no filler, and absolutely no interest in overstaying its welcome.

Having caught thrown live last month at The Truman in Kansas City, I already had a taste of what was coming. Hearing “critic,” “rehearsed,” “split,” and “unwanted” performed live gave me an early introduction to the material and the sheer intensity behind it. Those songs fit perfectly into a set that was already overflowing with aggression.

UNWANTED follows that same approach. With tracks averaging roughly two minutes apiece, there’s barely enough time to catch your breath before the next assault begins. Songs like “don’t be fooled,” “hard times,” and “bare minimum” carry titles that match the album’s confrontational attitude, while “doing great” and “subpar” add to its unmistakably bitter tone.

What makes thrown so effective is their refusal to complicate things. Their music is direct, unapologetic, and built around delivering maximum impact in the shortest amount of time. There’s something refreshing about a band that knows exactly what it wants to accomplish and doesn’t feel the need to stretch three minutes of material into five.

UNWANTED is short, hostile, and straight to the point. Eleven tracks, less than 22 minutes, and not a second wasted.

Sometimes less really is more.
