Two special vinyl editions of Blue October’s platinum-selling album Foiled are out today via Republic/UMe, marking 20 years since the record that cemented the Houston-bred band as one of alternative rock’s most distinctive voices. [Available Now]. Two decades on, the album’s catalog has surpassed one billion streams. [Stream on DSPS].

The anniversary collection includes a newly remastered 2LP on 180-gram black vinyl with gatefold jacket and fold-out lyric insert and, the Deluxe 2LP on smoky translucent vinyl with exclusive bonus tracks including an acoustic recording of the platinum-certified “Hate Me” and two rare remixes of “X Amount of Words.”

Beyond its chart and commercial success, the platinum-certified record remains influential because of the emotional world it captures and, still resonating with fans today. Across the album, Blue October moves through love, guilt, recovery, mental health, family, friendship, and the complicated process of trying to find a way back to yourself.

Foiled cracked the Billboard Rock Chart Top 10 on the strength of hits including the platinum-certified “Hate Me,” “Into the Ocean,” and “Overweight” sit in the weight of regret and self-destruction, while moments like “18th Floor Balcony” and “You Make Me Smile” reveal the album’s softer side, where vulnerability, trust, and connection still break through. Twenty years later, Foiled feels less like a record tied to one painful period and more like a full emotional snapshot of survival, accountability, and growth.

In March, the band shared the new music video for “Congratulations” ft. Imogen Heap which kicked off the anniversary year. Alongside the vinyl releases, the band recently premiered the new music video for fan favorite “18th Floor Balcony,” one of Foiled’s most tender songs.

Blue October, featuring frontman Justin Furstenfeld, drummer Jeremy Furstenfeld, multi-instrumentalist Ryan Delahoussaye, and bassist Matt Noveskey, kicked off their global headline tour in Europe on May 24, performing Foiled front to back each night. The North American tour begins in October, with Danny Malone supporting from October 22 through November 15 and Jess Woodland joining from November 17 through December 20. The band has also announced a second North American leg for 2027, beginning January 29.
