Korn began teasing new music last weekend with a cryptic post on their official Instagram account and keen-eyed fans deduced that it could be a cover of “The Devil Went Down To Georgia”. Not disappointing, the band released their cover today. The cut features a guest appearance of Alabama rapper Yelawolf.
Korn and Yelawolf both played the 2016 festival circuit for DWP, including Northern Invasion.
“I’ve always said it, but country music is some of the darkest ever,” said frontman Jonathan Davis. “Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, and, of course, Charlie Daniels all turned pain into some really powerful music that sounded alive. ‘The Devil Went Down To Georgia’ is a classic story, and we wanted to release it now to help others in need.”
