Northlane – Live at the Roundhouse

Our show at The Roundhouse was the first and biggest show of our 2019 Alien World Tour on October 11^th, 2019. Shot via 14 cameras in front of a sold-out home crowd, with audio mixed and mastered by Alien engineer Chris Blancato, our Live at the Roundhouse showcase was a turning point for all of us as we made our way back from the brink of collapse as a band.

As outlined in our recently released documentary, Negative Energy, the last time we played at The Roundhouse in 2018 it was to a half-empty room in a deprecate bid to get out heads above water financially. Live at the Roundhouse also contains a confronting and gut-wrenching performance by our frontman Marcus Bridge, as he battles through songs about his harrowing childhood live for the first time. Those who tuned into Negative Energy got a sneak peek of the band playing “Sleepless” for the first time – a song we will never play live again.

“One of the most incredible, moving moments we’ve ever had on stage for me was when we played Sleepless for the first time at our show at the Roundhouse,” starts guitarist Josh Smith. “Knowing what events had transpired not too long before that, and what the song was about I could tell Marcus was struggling when I got up there. By the time the song had finished, he was in tears and he just soldiered on through the rest of the encore like nothing was wrong at all. I could tell on the inside he was just bleeding out. It was one of the bravest moments I’ve ever witnessed.”

Following our show at the Roundhouse, we completed the biggest tour of our careers to date, selling out most shows across the globe. While back on home shores, Alien scored us our third Top 5 chart debut and third ARIA Award for Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album. Alien is our highest selling debut worldwide.

To commemorate one of the more turbulent periods in our careers as a band we are hosting a two-night streaming event of our celebrated performance at Sydney iconic venue. Live at the Roundhouse is available to stream for two nights only. Streaming events will be available as a pay-per-view event via Netgigs and are taking place on August 21st & 22^nd.
