Continuing with brand new adaptations of literary classics, The Haymarket Theatre proudly presents the H. G. Wells science-fiction masterpiece The Island of Dr. Moreau. This brand new adaptation (specially written for The Haymarket Theatre) will be a wonderful mix of horror and humor as it arrives just in time for Halloween! When the good ship Lady Vain sinks in the middle of the Pacific ocean, a group of English travelers become stranded on the mysterious island belonging to the exiled Dr. Moreau. While Moreau claims to have voluntarily “removed” himself from societies prying eyes, the travelers become more suspicious of his work when they notice the animals of the island are unlike any that they have ever encountered. The beasts seem to be eerily human: because they once were!
Be sure to come out in costume for the 2pm performance on October 27th. For a $5 donation, those interested can participate in the costume contest and also recieve some goulish snacks!
