Highlighted by some of Omaha’s most talented musicians, fans packed into The Waiting Room for an unforgettable post New Year’s Day celebration.
Evil Shadows kicked off the night with their unique style of rock infused heavy metal. Their unsuspected performance of New Kids On the Block’s “Hanging Tough” turned the circle pit into a mass of arms swaying in unison. Beast Eagle ticked the energy of the room up a notch and once again proved themselves as a force to be reckoned with on stage. Their addition was a plot twist for the evening. Just a few hours prior to the doors opening, The Absent, originally scheduled on the bill, had to cancel due to illness. It was a good thing the band had practice that night anyways.
LGHTBRNGR once again impressed fans with a stylish mix of pop goes punk meets metalcore. Their set was filled with more than a few circle pits and sing-a-longs. LGHTBRNGR are quickly becoming the band to watch. I have a feeling they’ll be touring the midwest very soon.
The Impulsive closed out the night with their signature voraciousness stage performance. They have been an Omaha favorite for almost a decade, and tonight’s show proved their reign continues. Few of our local artists can consistently draw a crowd equal to any national act that passes through our historic venues.
