The Hu are here to expand our minds with their unique blend of heavy metal and traditional Mongolian throat singing. While you might think that this would not be a combination that would work, The Hu are going to prove you wrong.
The band, currently on their first North American Tour, have already enlisted From Ashes to New vocalist Danny Case to rework their viral hit “yuve yuve yu”.
For their next English duet, The Hu have teamed up with Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale.
No word on when the reworked track will be released, but Hale recently took to Reddit to expand on the experience.
“I was given an opportunity to do something very unique. Mongolian Rock Band “The HU” brought me into their world to write melody and lyrics to an already existing song of theirs called “Song of Women”. They educated me about their culture and the meaning behind their song…and asked me to take that subject matter and write a brand new song from my personal perspective over top of their existing music and melodies. So I did, and it was one of the most heart filling, spiritual projects I’ve ever been a part of!
To me the song of women is a very important reminder to the world that all things start and end with a women. Our happiness, our pleasure, our wonder, our beauty, our strength, our faith, our love, our freedom, our light, our dark… our existence. We are the universe wrapped in skin. Thank you so much to The HU for including me in this beautiful project, and for trying to teach me how to throat /overtone sing! I promise I will practice!” Lzzy
