We Love You; Combichrist

March 2014
Out of Line/Metropolis Records

Love is in the air and Combichrist’s Andy LaPlegua is baring his emotions as only the Norwegian Aggrotech musician can; With a new full length release and enough industrial aural savagery to melt your ears.
The band’s 7th full length studio release, “We Love You”, starts with a caressing threat; “Don’t forget we love you. Now die.” “We Love You” finds LaPlegua continuing to forcefully evolve Combichrist’s music and push the limits of the genre that he helped to create almost a decade ago.
The album as a whole is a ticking time bomb, with each track delivering an explosive impact. “Every Day is War”, “Can’t Control” and “Denial”
Continuing the album’s momentum, “Maggots At The Party” is full of crashing beats and thunderous guitar riffs. “The Evil In Me” takes the tone of the album down a notch and finds surrounding himself in an incredibly somber borderline piano ballad that morphs and melts into a thrashing industrial outro.
The creatively titled “Fuck Unicorns” is a trippy instrumental journey that differs from LePlegua’s usual heavy hitting instrumental tracks.
Overall, “We Love You” is a brilliant release. Don’t pirate this album. Don’t borrow it from a friend. Do us all a favor and buy it so Combichrist can continue to make authentic music.
