KMFDM; KUNST

February 26th, 2013 Metropolis Records How much more music does Sascha Konietzko have in him? 2014 will be the band’s 30th anniversary and “KUNST” is KMFDM’s 18th full length studio release. Konietkzo and wife Lucia Cifarelli have found the perfect vocal pairing for KMFDM. KUNST follows the same formula for success that the band has been using since it’s reformation in 2002. Why fix what isn’t broken? The aggression of tracks like “Pseudocide”, “The Mess You Made” and “Hello” are more focused and precise. The hammering bass and heavy guitar riffs enhance each track with the industrial chords provide the perfect undertone and heralds an almost aural return to the primal tones of “NIHIL”. The band’s sound and theme once again continued to evolve and progress with each release. KMFDM’s brand of Ultra Heavy Beats continue to smash genre barriers and influence another generation of fans. Konietkzo’s vocals are as strong as ever, having been honed by three decades of non-stop touring. Lucia Cifarelli’s voice purrs on tracks like “Animal Out” and “Ave Maria”. Cifarelli’s vocal range is a perfect mirror to Konietkzo’s more gruff voice. “KUNST” also features the return of guest musician William Wilson (Legion Within) on vocals for “Next Big Thing” and contributions by Swedish band Morlocks with lead vocals by J.Strauss and guitars by Innocentius Rabiatus.
