With mere days before a rather sizable chunk of the music industry and journalists alike abandon their desktop computers and descend en mass on that quiet little Texas city of Austin, TEAM REYBEE is checking their gauges, filling the tank, and getting the snacks ready for the trek (full disclosure: they’re flying).
And which Reybee bands are going?
The Front Bottoms (NJ): Talon of The Hawk, the second full length from acoustic indie punk band The Front Bottoms was released on Bar None Records on May 21, 2013. The band has been featured on NPR: Tiny Desk Concerts, Daytrotter, Alternative Press, BrooklynVegan and Noisey.
Ringo Deathstarr (Austin, TX): The band will be releasing a limited pressing of God’s Dream on March 25th, previously only available on CD in Japan. Ringo Deathstarr has previously been featured in Pitchfork, Stereogum, Brooklyn Vegan, and Consequence of Sound. Noisey premiered God’s Dream here: (LINK)
The Grahams (NYC): The band’s debut album Riverman’s Daughter is out now! Riverman’s Daughter hit #29 on the Billboard Americana Charts. The Grahams recently showcased at the 2014 Folk Alliance International and are currently touring with Lilly Hiatt. The Band has recently appeared on CMT, American Songwriter, The Boot, Woodsong’s Old-Time Radio Hour, WDVX’s Blue Plate Special and BalconyTV Nashville.
The Architects (Kansas City, MO): The band is currently involved in the project Border Wars, a series of five connected episodes told through a collection of comic book stories and their accompanying soundtrack releases. The Architects have shared the stage with Frank Turner, Social Distortion, My Chemical Romance and Flogging Molly and are currently scheduled to join tours with Blue October and Guttermouth in March and April. The band has been featured in Alternative Press, The Fader, AV Club, The Deli Magazine, Outburn and AbsolutePunk.
Two Cow Garage (Columbus, OH): The band recently release their sixth studio album, Death of the Self-Preservation Society on Last Chance Records. In the last six months, Two Cow Garage has toured tirelessly, ranking up nearly 100 dates in both the UK and The States.
Rey Roldan (founder, Reybee): Our trusty founder and president himself REY ROLDAN will be one of the panelists on the Today’s Best Practices in Music Publicity panel. He, along with Andy Adelewitz (Paradigm Talent Agency), Sarah Avrin (Girlie Action Media), and moderator Dmitri Vietze (StoryAmp LLC) will be discussing developments in journalism and what publicity practices and technology get the best results. Definitely a must-not-miss!
Publicists Josh Hammond and Rey Roldan will be out and about in Austin at the shows and parties, so come seek them out, enjoy the bands, and chill with them!
And let us know if you want to talk to the bands… there are still a few open interview slots left! See you behind the Shiner Bock! |
