![]() NEW YORK – DECEMBER 3, 2013 – “Waves”, the brand new track from Sleeper Agent‘s highly-anticipated forthcoming second album, is available to stream and download for free today at the band’s website www.sleeperagentmusic.com. RCA Records / Mom + Pop will release the new album in early 2014. To stream and download “Waves” for free now, click HERE.
“‘Waves’ is ultimately about a private apocalypse. It’s about closing chapters of the past and watching all you knew crumble before you,” the band’s Tony Smith told Rolling Stone.
The earnest subject matter is juxtaposed against playful guitar riffs and reverb-laden shout along choruses. Even in the depths of sorrow, the band radiates a warm, carefree sound.
Sleeper Agent will spend January and February on the road touring with New Politics and Magic Man for an extensive run of U.S. live dates. See below for a complete list of dates.
The new album will follow up the band’s heralded debut album Celabrasion, which was released by Mom + Pop in 2011 and immediately garnered the affectionate attention of the blogosphere straight to the top of the national music media – leading to prominent features on the pages on SPIN, Rolling Stone, Alternative Press, Guitar World, Los Angeles Times, and many more. Rolling Stone hailed them as a “Band To Watch” and the group was named the #2 Best New Band in the annual Rolling Stone Reader’s Poll. Sleeper Agent also won MTVu’s Freshman Award in February 2012 and singer Alex Kandel was one of six artists to be nominated for Rolling Stone’s “Women Who Rock” contest in 2012. The band toured nonstop through out 2012, sharing the stage with Weezer, Fun., Grouplove, Young The Giant, Ben Kweller, The Joy Formidable, Manchester Orchestra, Circa Survive, Company of Thieves, and more.
