This past week was amazing for Magic the Gathering players, especially if you follow the games’ lore!
After previewing the new incarnation of Avacyn for Shadows Over Innistrad at Grand Prix Detroit, Wizards of the Coast released the latest chapter in Innistrad’s story.
The story revolved around the archangel Avacyn, and gave us clues as to how Innistrad’s savior was corrupted. Was it the Eldrazi? A demon lord? Was it the 4th Sister that Sigarda referred to in “A Gaze Blank and Pitiless“?

New art for Gisela and Bruna were also revealed, even if their names’ weren’t specifically tied to the previews.
WotC also elaborated on the Madness and Delirium mechanics. This block will absolutely revolve around the cards in your graveyard.
If you’re a keen observer and want to guess as to which Planeswalkers will be joining werewolf Arlinn Kord in the Shadows Over Innistrad block, Sorin, Jace, Nahiri and Tamiyo have all been mentioned in several of the card’s the flavor texts.
