‘Tis the Final Countdown to Eternal Love at Honeymoon RockFest!
Three of life’s greatest gifts – love, marriage, and rock & roll – are converging on Oklahoma City for a festival of unprecedented proportions. The first annual Honeymoon Rock Fest is scheduled March 18 through March 20 at Remington Park in Oklahoma City.
Over 25 bands and local Oklahoma artists are scheduled to rock out during the three-day music festival. Between musical sets, couples who purchase a wedding package can tie the knot in front of thousands of cheering fans, where so many of the musicians are excited to officiate. In addition, an ordained minister will work with the couples to prepare beforehand, as well as handle the paperwork and legalities.
Honeymoon Rock Fest will be hosted by MTV’s Matt Pinfield and showcase many billboards artists, including Scott Stapp, Voice of Creed, Sugar Ray, Puddle of Mudd, Candlebox, Saliva, Fuel, Everclear, Saving Abel, Sister Hazel, Eve 6, Authority Zero, Powerman 5000, and many more.
“Candlebox is stoked to be sharing the stage with so many of our old friends and musical families in celebration of what some would say is the last great era of Rock n Roll,” said Kevin Martin, lead singer of Candlebox. “Cannot wait, let the honeymoon begin!”
“People are coming to Oklahoma from all over the country to be a part of this one-of-a-kind event,” says organizer Leia Sigler. “Honeymoon Rock Fest is a music festival to celebrate love, and that’s exactly what people need right now. The world today seems so divided, so this is our chance to bring people together and raise a glass to the things that unite us all – great music, romance, and lifetime devotion. This is a true original event. There’s never been another like this anywhere.”
Sigler mentioned that she has suffered a lot of loss in her life, and it took decades for her to love again, but said she is so thankful that she fell in love with her best friend, Phillip Thomas. With the couple being musicians, Sigler created the festival as a celebration of their marriage and now will be one the couples getting married on stage. They are inviting all couples who want to join their celebration and exchange vows at Honeymoon Rock Fest to register on their website. Couples who purchase a wedding package also receive exclusive VIP accommodations. Sigler added “We really want to make some dreams come true!”
“I think it’s great bringing love and music together for a weekend,” stated Bobby Amaru, lead singer of Saliva. “After all, music connects people on so many levels. I am missing human connection more and more. Especially after the past few years, so I’m definitely excited to get out and rock for love!”
Zac Maloy, lead singer from The Nixons and award-winning songwriter added, “To have a musical event like this in The Nixons’ hometown is incredible. Old friends like Candlebox, Everclear and Sugar Ray, who we shared the stage with back in the proverbial ‘day’, along with artists I’ve written with like Saliva, Eve 6 & the ultimate rock star Scott Stapp. This is going to be epic!” Maloy is also very excited to officiate a stage wedding.
