In a recent Instagram post from Grunewald, the harsh vocalist stated, “Hello friends, sadly I have to announce that I am no longer a part of the band Annisokay as of now, we’ve had many great years, many great experiences. A defining chapter of my life will now close. To counteract any rumors, there was a no dispute or such, we discussed this decision long and thoroughly and we didn’t decide for this move inconsiderately. I thank Annisokay for being part of my journey. But this journey continues alone for me now. Standing on stage and sensing your energy is the best feeling I know, that’s why I promise you 2020 I will come back!”#REBORN2020

Grunewald’s replacement, Rudi Schwarzer, will be on the upcoming winter tour though. Schwarzer live premiered with the band on October 26th in Schüttorf, Germany. Schwarzer is a member of German hardcore band Wither as well as former member of LEAVE. and Arctic Island.
This isn’t the first time the band has gone through a lineup change. Felix Fröhlich provided unclean vocals from 2007 until Grunewald’s introduction in 2011. The band recently parted ways with lead guitarist and founder Philipp Kretzschmar, leaving vocalist and guitarist Christoph Wieczorek as the sole founding member.
Annisokay also took to Instagram to answer questions from fans. The band assured their fans that their “style will evolve but we will definitely stay true to our sound”.
One fan asked about a possible Australian tour, to which the band replied “Maybe with one of our favorite bands, Northlane.” As for another U.S. tour? “We hope to come back as soon as possible.”
When asked if the band support their LGBT fans, “But of course! Love is there for everyone!”
The band also plans on releasing their follow up to 2018’s “ARMS” sometime in 2020.
