Evanescence announce 2018 U.S. Co-headlining Tour With Lindsey Stirling

Evanescence will return to North America this summer for a cross-country tour. Joining the band, violinist Lindsey Stirling will be co-headlining their Amphitheater tour. The tour, produced by Live Nation, will kick off July 6 in Kansas City, MO at the Starlight Theatre and will make stops in 31 North American cities. The trek will wrap September 8 in Ridgefield, WA at the Sunlight Supply Amphitheater.

“We’re very excited to announce our Summer North American 2018 tour with @LindseyStirling across the US – Synthesis style, with live orchestra!” the March 6th twitter announcement read. The addition of Stirling to the tour means we may get a guest appearance during Hi-Lo, the track which features Stirling’s amazing violin skills.
Evanescence released their fourth studio album, Synthesis, on Nov. 10, 2017. Synthesis found the rock band reimagining some of their fan favorite songs, complete with full orchestra backing, electronics and founder Amy Lee’s virtuoso piano and voice.

“This album is about orchestra and electronica. We’re taking our music, stripping out the big distorted guitars, stripping out the rock drums and replacing it with full orchestration in a completely synthetic world of beats and sounds,” Amy Lee revealed.
Lee chose tracks from Evanescence’s extensive catalogue that were “made to be heard in this way.” But don’t call them remixes. The tracks on Synthesis are complete reworkings of the original versions.

“This is a total passion project for me. There are so many layers in our music, underneath the huge drums and guitars,” lead singer Amy Lee confessed before the band’s 2017 Synthesis tour. “This will be our first time touring with an orchestra and I’m so excited to perform this way — really focus on the vocals, and the emotion and the story we’ve built over the years.”
Lee chose the album’s title because “it is the synthesis, the combination, the contrast, the synergy between the organic and the synthetic and also the past and the present.”
