December 6, 2016 – Roadrunner Records’ group Gojira have garnered their first ever Grammy nominations, earning nods for ‘Best Metal Performance’ for their song “Silvera” and ‘Best Rock Album’ for their acclaimed new LP MAGMA, at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards.
The band commented on the momentous occasion remarking, “We are honored and excited to receive our first Grammy nominations for ‘Best Metal Performance’ and ‘Best Rock Album’ of 2016. Earlier this year Gojira’s MAGMA took the #1 spot on Billboard’s ‘Hard Rock Albums’ chart making them the first French band to hold the #1 spot on the chart in its nine year existence.
