10 Cloverfield Lane

Finally! A companion piece to JJ Abrams 2008 monster movie, “Cloverfield”. Exactly how “10 Cloverfield Lane” relates to the first Cloverfield film is unknown, but it looks to be set years after the monster’s rampage in New York City.

After a car accident, a young woman awakens in an underground cellar, where most of the action takes place. She fears she has been abducted by a survivalist, who tells her he saved her life and that a chemical attack has left the outside world uninhabitable. Uncertain what to believe, she decides she must escape, whatever dangers she may face outside.

“10 Cloverfield Lane” is set for release on March 11, 2015, and stars John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and John Gallagher, Jr.
‘The idea came up a long time ago during production. We wanted to make it a blood relative of Cloverfield. The idea was developed over time. We wanted to hold back the title for as long as possible,” JJ Abrams told Collider.
Winstead said: “As it goes on, it gets progressively darker and darker, and less and less funny, and weirder. He (Goodman’s character) tells me that basically the world is over outside because there’s been a nuclear fall-out. It does have similarity to Faults, in some ways, because you don’t know who’s telling the truth or who to believe. There’s a lot of, who’s manipulating who, and all of that. Tonally, it’s very different, but it has some of those same themes.”
Fans are already dissecting the details of the trailer. The trailer suggests the three survivors have been living in an underground bunker straight out of Doomsday Preppers. Several keen eyes are even pointing out the similarities to the bunker in ABC’s “LOST”.  Winstead’s character seems to be held captive by Goodman, but, after an escape attempt, finds that the world isn’t left how she remembers it.
“Something’s coming.”
