Every year in Chicago, the festival sponsors a turkey giveaway for families in our community. This year they have partnered with Alderman George A. Cardenas (12th Ward), Apoyo Medico Legal, Viva Entertainment and several 12th Ward businesses to distribute over 600 turkeys to help offset Thanksgiving celebration expenses for families in need. The giveaway took place today at the 12th Ward Public Service Office at 3476 S. Archer Avenue. The 12th Ward services Brighton Park, Little Village and McKinley Park. “The families in our communities deserve to have a full feast for Thanksgiving,” stated Cardenas, “and I feel this is the best way for us to help.”
