THE BOTS ANNOUNCE SUMMER TOUR SUPPORTING INCUBUS AND DEFTONES |

LOS ANGELES, CA – April 16, 2015 – The Bots announced today that they will be hitting the road this summer to support an Incubus and Deftones co-headline tour alongside Death From Above 1979. The tour kicks off July 22 in Clarkston, MI and wraps August 30 in San Diego, CA. All shows go on sale April 24 unless otherwise noted. See below for a full list of dates.
The band just wrapped a run of US shows with Australia’s The Preatures. The duo’s live show received high praise from Consequence of Sound who remarked, “The Bots dragged their sludgy blues rock out, turning up the volume with startling results.The way the brothers tinker with their own devices is something worth marveling over.”
The Bots are also excited to be a participating artist in the recently announced Fender Accelerator campaign, which provides tour support for rising bands: a 15-passenger van, promotional and marketing support, and Fender gear. The Bots recently shared a music video for their song “Blinded” that was directed by The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus. Watch the video HERE and check out a behind-the-scenes clip featuring Reedus HERE. The band made their network television debut in February, performing the song on Late Night with Seth Meyers. Billboard noted that the band “aced their TV debut with a raw performance of their single that evoked The Black Keys and Jimi Hendrix,” and later featured the band as an Emerging Pick of the Week.
The duo was recently hailed as “the coolest brothers on planet earth” by NYLON and “this generation’s real rock ‘n’ rolling brothers” by Teen Vogue. The Bots received high praise from Interview, who included the band in their “15 Faces of 2015” feature and Alternative Press, who included the band in their “100 Bands You Need to Know in 2015” list. The band was profiled in LA Weekly, who called them “L.A.’s most celebrated rock duo” and said “watching The Bots’ kinetic jams can remind anyone over 30 of the joyous exuberance and purity that music once brought.”
The band’s debut full-length, Pink Palms, was released in October via FADER Label. The LA Times premiered the record and called it “a mash of frenetic garage rock and lush indie rock.” Zane Lowe premiered “All I Really Want”, the album’s first single, proclaiming, “The future – a big part of it – belongs to them.” NPR Music called the song “an absolute knockout.”
The band is currently starring in Mitsubishi’s “Every Mile Matters” TV commercial. The national spot features their album track “All Of Them (Wide Awake)”. The band performed a stripped-down version of the song for NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert.
Band-mates, Mikaiah Lei (Lead Vocal, Guitar, Bass) and Anaiah Lei (Drums & Percussions, Backing Vocal), recorded their first album together when they were just 15 and 12, respectively. They self-released their first three albums and completed two Vans Warped Tours, two AFROPUNK Fests, countless European festivals, and support tours with Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Blur, Damon Albarn’s Africa Express, Refused, and Bad Brains, before releasing their EP, Sincerely Sorry, on FADER Label in 2013.
