AFTER OUT NEXT WEEK ON MOM+POP; NORTH AMERICAN TOUR FOLLOWS MARCH RECORD RELEASE SHOWS IN NEW YORK, BOSTON & PORTLAND

(After album art)

Lady Lamb (aka Aly Spaltro) will release her sophomore album, After, next week on March 3rd viaMom+Pop. Known for intimate and unbridged songwriting, Spaltro explores these dualities further on this new album, giving equal attention to both the internal and external, the before and after. Her most palpable fears and memories are on display here, with a familiar vulnerability even more direct than on her debut, Ripely Pine. These new works are sonically vibrant, with an assertive use of grit and brightness. After sharing singles “Billions of Eyes” and “Spat Out Spit,” Lady Lamb is now presenting After in its entirety via an album stream and interview onRollingStone.comListen now through March 3rd.

Lady Lamb will play record release shows in the three cities she considers home – New York (on release date!),Portland and Boston, and then will head out on a six week North American tour. Spaltro (guitar, vocals) will be joined by Derek Gierhan (drums) and TJ Metcalfe (bass, organ). All dates are below.

On ‘Billions of Eyes’, the epic-in-miniature first single from her upcoming follow-up, After, she describes the clouds on a gray day ‘like wool gone through the wash.’ …That line ushers you into Spaltro’s invitingly skewed world, where running for the train becomes an action movie and where simply boarding a plane beckons a bad case of stage fright.” — Pitchfork

“[‘Spat Out Spit’] showcases Spaltro’s engrossing, idiosyncratic musical arrangements and versatile voice, which zooms from an offhanded murmur to robust and full-throated.” — The Wall Street Journal’s Speakeasy

“‘Billions of Eyes’ breathed new life into a week that, quite simply, threatened to drown us. A totally captivating, freeform blend of dance-y folk with drum configurations that evoke grungy wisps of garage rock . . . “
— Blouin Artinfo

“a mighty and righteous performer brimming with rock star charisma”
— Consequence of Sound [The 50 Most Anticipated Albums of 2015]

“‘Billions Of Eyes’ soars high, making jangly folk-pop into something anthemic. The lyrics are especially something great, balancing between idiosyncratic and poignant…” — Stereogum

After… promises further refinement and deeper growth of [Spaltro’s] art-folk epics, which vary in run time, scope, and volume, but never sincerity.” — SPIN [January “Artist To Watch”]
