It’s that time of the year again! We’re itching to get the hell out of this ice box and head down to Austin, TX for another fun(?) SXSW Music Conference. Please take a look at who we have down there and let us know if you want to meet up for some BBQ/Tacos/Beers!
Of course – everyone listed below is available for interviews and we can always squeeze in another showcase or two so let us know if you’re interested.
Colony House
Colony House, an indie-rock trio from Nashville, released their debut album When I Was Younger this past summer via Descendent Records (The Lone Bellow).  Upon album release, they hit #3 on Billboard’s Heatseeker’s chart and #7 on the iTunes Alternative chart.  Their single “Silhouettes” reached #1 on Sirius XM’s AltNation and continues to be in heavy rotation.  They’ve also been featured on NPR MusicConan O’Brien’s TeamCocoPasteBaeble, and A.V. Club.  They made their television debut on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” followed soon after with an appearance on VH1 “Big Morning Buzz.”  They’ve toured with Augustana and Knox Hamilton with upcoming tours announced for 2015 with Kongos, Sir Sly, and NeedToBreathe.

Happyness
South London’s Happyness are releasing their debut full-length Weird Little Birthday in the US on March 24th via Bar/None Records.  The album has been praised by The GuardianSunday Times, and Stereogum, the latter saying the trio “specializes in lush-yet-breezy indie rock that conjures all sorts of wistful feelings then takes the piss out of them with wry puns and punchlines.”  NPR Music’s All Songs Considered compared the band to “Wilco crossed with Sparklehorse, Pavement and gritty garage rock.”

Hippo Campus
 
Hippo Campus are a four-piece indie-rock band based out of Woodbury, MN who just signed to Grand Jury for the release of their forthcoming full-length! Last fall, The band released an EP titled Bashful Creatures, that was produced by Low’s Alan Sparhawk. Interview Magazine said, “Hardly out of high school, four boys living just outside the Twin Cities create catchy indie pop rock as though they’ve been playing long past their teenage years” while The Wild Honey Pie said “There’s not a miss among the variety of songs on their fantastic debut EP.” The band was just featured in the print edition of NME Magazine as a Band To Watch in 2015. They will embark on a 6 week tour with The Mowgli’s and Fences at the end of March.

Ryan Culwell
On March 3rd, the West Texas born songwriter Ryan Culwell will release Flatlands, his Lightning Rod Records (Jason Isbell, Amanda Shires, Joe Pug) debut and first album in more than 8 years. Guitar World Acoustic Nation premiered “Never Gonna Cry,” the first single to be released from the album, and called it “masterfully crafted and artfully delivered.” Ryan has also recently been featured in The Bluegrass SituationCMT Edge, and Folk Alley. When asked to describe the LP, Culwell says “listening to my music is like watching No County For Old Men…all the emptiness and violence will either scare you away or you’ll find yourself alone at 3am with it on repeat.”
