Hanzel Und Gretyl are back, and more metal than ever!
HuG will always hold a special place in my dark heart. They were one of the first bands I got to see play live back in 1998 (Slipknot opened for them) and introduced me to the metal/industrial genre. After close to two decades of making music, Vas and Loopy are still churning out some of the heaviest, most melodic death metal beign made today.
Black Forest Metal, the band’s seventh studio release, marks the beginning of a new era for HuG. Not satisfied with making the same style of music on each of their releases, the band continues to evolve into a Darker, heavier, and more metal than metal band!
Black Forest Metal takes us on a dark fantastic sonic journey through a twisted aural landscape. Vas’ vocals provide the perfect tour guide through the twisted, ethereal music created by herself and Loopy. The music is heavy. Loopy crunching guitars couple perfectly with Vas’ gutteral growls and sultry purrs.
As with each of their releases, HuG prove that they have paid with blood, sweat and tears, and fought tooth and nail to maintain their position as one of the best heavy metal acts touring the world.
