NOVATION AND THUMP ANNOUNCE SERIES OF FREE PANELS

Brooklyn, NY – OCTOBER 16, 2014 – The Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival, which takes over 10 venues in the heart of Williamsburg on November 7th and 8th, has added a series of exciting new acts and events to its line-up. They are as follows:

 

Acclaimed artists DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist will bring their “Renegades of Rhythm” show toVerboten (54 N. 11th St, Brooklyn) on November 7th. The two turntablists will celebrate the legacy of hip-hop vanguard and Universal Zulu Nation founder Afrika Bambaataa, spinning vinyl pulled fromBambaataa’s historic collection, which is over 40,000 strong and permanently archived at Cornell University. This very special show features DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist spinning on six turntables and employing a variety of real-time effects.

 

On November 7th, White Material Records showcases a lineup of their artists and friends of the label at VILLAIN (50 N 3th St, Williamsburg) starting at 11pm to showcase their roster, featuring Brown Recluse Alpha, Young Male, Alvin Aronson, & Morgan Louis.
Honey Dijon has also been confirmed as direct support for Jackmaster and Eats Everything atOutput (74 Wythe Ave, Brooklyn) on November 8th for “Edible, A Party by Eats Everything”.

 

Tickets go on sale today for the Official RINSED After Hours Party on November 8th featuring Omar S. Location to be announced. As has come to be expected from RINSED parties, an unexpected location, aesthetics, and late night sets will occur.
In addition, Novation, the festival’s official hardware partner, and THUMP are teaming up to present a series of artist panels, which are open to the public and free to attend. The discussions will cover a diverse catalogue of topics, from music production to distribution, and will give attendees the chance to get insider tips in a Q&A session from their favorite BEMF artists and some of New York nightlife’s major players. The panels will take place from 4 pm – 7pm on November 8th at the Kinfolk 94 space in Williamsburg (94 Wythe Ave, Brooklyn). Admission is free, but priority will be given to BEMF ticket holders.
