LEOPOLD AND HIS FICTION, ONE OF AMERICAN SONGWRITER’S “FAVORITE ACTS” AT SXSW,

EXTENDS U.S. HEADLINE TOUR

“The hardest working moustache at SXSW, serving up a sexy rock strut that would make Jack White red in the cheeks.

Band Previews Songs From Upcoming Album, Produced By Chris “Frenchie” Smith, At LA’s Viper Room Next Tuesday, April 22

As word continues to spread about Leopold and his Fiction’s roof-raising performances at SXSW and on the road, the band has extended its current U.S. headline tour into June. See below for itinerary.

Coldplay and Imagine Dragons take over SXSW, but it’s Leopold and His Fiction that really impress,” said American Songwriter, recalling how the band “took the stage as unknowns and successfully swept a crowd…off their feet and into spirited bouts of dancing, clapping and singing,” The Austin American-Statesman called lead singer Daniel James as the “hardest working moustache at SXSW, serving up a sexy rock strut that would make Jack White red in the cheeks.” The Austin Chronicle named a subsequent show as a “Pick of the Week” and the band’s new single, “I’m Caving In,” was the “Song of the Day” on KUTX-Austin. The video for “I’m Caving In” can be viewed HERE.

The Waco Weekly welcomed Leopold and His Fictionto town with this cover story, hailing James as “rocker, Motown bluesman, Americana folk-master.” The Las Vegas Review-Journal noted, “The Austin, Texas-based band is fronted by Detroit native Daniel James, and the musical heritage of his hometown can be heard as loud and clear in Leopold and His Fiction as one of James’ tongue-wagging guitar solos, specifically the bare-knuckle bluster of The Stooges and the pelvis-activating R&B of Motown’s finest. Live, it all becomes even more overblown and sweaty. Bring a towel.”

Leopold and his Fiction will play The Viper Room in West Hollywood, CA next Tuesday, April 22. Other upcoming shows include Neck of the Woods in San Francisco, CA (April 24), New Way Bar in Ferndale, MI (May 1), New York City’s Mercury Lounge (May 5) and The High Watt in Nashville (May 31).

Leopold and his Fiction’s new album, recorded with producer-engineerChris “Frenchie” Smith (The Datsuns, Jet, The Dandy Warhols), will be released later this year. The band has recently supported The Cult, ZZ Top, Shooter Jennings, Reverend Peyton and Deer Tick. Leopold and his Fiction’s songs have been heard in such television shows as “Sons of Anarchy” (FX), “Dallas” (TNT), and “Deadliest Catch (Discovery Channel) and been licensed by Gap, Ray-ban, Volvo and Monster Energy BMX, among others.
