January is MUST READ VALIANT month!
Valiant is leading off the New Year with a month of new story arcs for some of its biggest series, and kicking things off in force is Bloodshot and H.A.R.D. Corps #18 – featuring the return of Valiant legend Bart “The Bulge” Sears to full interior art duties!
For the two-part “Get Some” arc, co-writers Christos Gage and Joshua Dysart have given Bart all the over-the-top action he can handle – exploding oil pipelines, helicopter crashes, and bare-knuckle buck knife fights with a jungle backdrop. It’s like Bloodshot and Commando had a ridiculously awesome baby with excellent pectoral definition!
Then, Peter Milligan and Roberto de la Torre continue their startling new vision of Valiant’s dark side in Shadowman #14. They’re only two issues into their all-new direction for the character and, if you miss the bygone days of Peter Milligan’s Hellblazer at Vertigo, this is the perfect remedy. The new arc is called “Fear, Blood, and Shadows” – and this issue features all of the above!
And last but not least, it’s Quantum and Woody #7 by James Asmus and Ming Doyle – a book that turned up on all kinds of year-end best of lists (including USA Today and CBR, just to name a few)! This month, it’s the world’s worst superhero team versus the military industrial complex! And a homegrown separatist militia. And the prospect of a second Civil War. Uh-oh…I think the guys might be in trouble.
All three issues go on sale Wednesday, January 8th.
