Alex Ebert Nominated For A Golden Globe For Best Original Score For All Is Lost‏

This morning it was announced that Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros’ frontman Alex Ebert was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Score for the All Is Lost Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, which was released by Community Music on October 1st, 2013. The soundtrack features ten original compositions and one new song all written, composed, and produced by Ebert. The material is the sonic companion to the film All Is Lost which was released on October 18th by Roadside Attractions and Lionsgate domestically and by Universal Pictures International everywhere else.

Starring Academy Award® winner Robert Redford, All Is Lost is an open-water thriller about one man’s battle for survival against the elements after his sailboat is destroyed at sea. Written and directed by Academy Award nominee J.C. Chandor (Margin Call) the film is a gripping, visceral and powerfully moving tribute to ingenuity and resilience. The film premiered to great accolades at the 2013 Cannes International Film Festival and was released in the United States on Friday, October 18, 2013.

The 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards, hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, will air on Sunday, January 12, 2013, LIVE coast-to-coast from Los Angeles. The 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards will be seen in more than 192 countries and is produced by Dick Clark Productions in association with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
