Dave Koz Brings Holiday Cheer to Hospitalized Kids
$100,000 Donation Will Help Children in 20 Cities
| LOS ANGELES, CA – Nov. 14, 2013 – Grammy®nominated Jazz saxophonist Dave Koz visited California Hospital Medical Center yesterday to present Starlight Children’s Foundation® with a check for $100,000 that will improve the life and health of kids in the 20 cities that Dave will visit on his “Dave Koz and Friends 2013 Christmas Tour.” The donation was raised via silent auction onboard the sold-out Dave Koz and Friends at Sea 2013 cruise to the Mediterranean. The funds will provide for three Starlight Tablets and toys and items valued at $500 as requested by each hospital through their Starlight Wish List on Starlight.org.
Dave has served as Starlight’s Global Ambassador since 1993, harnessing his worldwide appeal to raise funds and awareness for Starlight’s mission to improve the life and health of kids and families from hospital to home. In addition to donating his musical talents to Starlight’s fundraising events, Dave engages fans on the Dave Koz & Friends At Sea cruise and during concerts to support Starlight programs. He also donates 100 percent of his profits from the sale of KOZ Wines (available at California Pizza Kitchen and Whole Foods), no less than 10 percent of the purchase price per bottle, to Starlight.

Starlight Wish Lists are the newest innovation in service of Starlight’s mission. For the first time, hospitals can publish their Wish List on Starlight.org, requesting items that transform the hospital experience for children. Donors can then point, click and ship those items directly to their facility of choice, leveraging the power of Amazon’s fulfillment network.
Starlight Tablets are a critical resource for healthcare professionals to support the ongoing needs of kids while in the hospital.
