MINDLESS SELF INDULGENCE Set To Release Remix Record… Feat. KMFDM, Combichrist, and more!

MINDLESS SELF INDULGENCE Collects Remixes of “F*** Machine” Featuring KMFDM, Combichrist, Chantal Claret, and More… Out January 14, 2014 on Metropolis Records

“‘F*** Machine’ is a dirty song about f***ing so much that you become a machine, so it’s the perfect song for a remix record,” says vocalist/programmer JIMMY URINE of the genre-busting and inflammatory MINDLESS SELF INDULGENCE (MSI) with the subtlety of a sledgehammer. But MSI aren’t known for their subtlety and never have been. With the upcoming release of their 12-track remix album F*** Machine on January 14, 2014 via Metropolis Records, MSI have made the music stems available f or that eponymous track off of their latest album How I Learned To Stop Giving a Sh*t And Love Mindless Self Indulgence to their friends and peers to remix, remake and remodel… and the results, as one would expect, are pretty f***ed up.
“We have remixes from our usual gang of friends like KMFDM, Combichrist and Mustard Pimp… plus some new friends like Blush Response,” Jimmy continues. “We also have remixes from LJU, the world’s only hermaphrodite DJ, and a remix of ‘Jack You Up’ by Black Lipstick who are so goth that they are actually card-carrying members of The Black Panthers.  Rounding the whole thing out is my lovely wife Chantal Claret on the ‘Chantal Loves Jimmy Remix’, telling me how she wants to make a f*** machine with me.”

With varying degrees of extremities from LJU’s jump and bounce remix, to the dark and driving Scandinavian Cock Mix to the new wave shimmer of the ‘Flock of Jimmy’s Remix’, the remix compilation dips and dives in different musical pools without being redundant.  Sitting innocently between the horror cinematic trailer atmospherics of the aptly named ‘F*** Machine (Coming to a Theater Near You)’ and the album version of the track is the Black Lipstick remix of “Jack You Up”, which  would feel comfortable at the old goth club of yore Limelight (pre-yuppie mall makeover, of course).  Tacked on at the very end is a challenge track from the band – an a cappella version of “F*** Machine”, so, as Jimmy nicely puts it, “you can get off your fat ass and go make your own goddamn remix!!”
Fiercely independently minded and always one to buck trends, Mindless Self Indulgence refuse to play the music industry game, which is why their rabid fans have a cult-like adoration for the band and why they’ve managed to survive in an industry known for eating its own. “We do what we want and we always have,” Jimmy concludes. Forming in New York City in 1997, MSI quickly made their mark with an indefinable hybrid sound that portended a lot of rock music to come. With four studio albums to date, MSI cracked the Top 5 on Billboard’s Dance chart seven times (with four #1’s) performed with the likes of Rammstein, The Dresden Dolls and System of a Down, and maintains a devout global fan base through constant international touring and energetic live performances. Following the success of 2008’s If which hit #27 on the Billboard Top 200, MSI decided to seize control of  their future and go indie.
