Its hard to believe that just a few years earlier, Benson Boone played an intimate sold out performance at The Waiting Room, then opened for Air Supply at Stir Cover. Before the Grammy nomination. Before the fireworks and roller-skates. Now Boone finally brought his highly anticipated Wanted Man Tour to Omaha’s CHI Health Center on sweltering Tuesday night, delivering the kind of high-energy performance that has rapidly made him one of pop music’s most exciting live acts. Packed with soaring vocals, acrobatic stunts, and crowd-pleasing hits, Boone gave fans exactly what they came to see, leaving the arena exhausted and dazzled.
Before Boone took the stage, Luna Li captivated the audience with an engaging opening set. The Canadian multi-instrumentalist commanded the stage from the moment she appeared, drawing the crowd in with her unique blend of dreamy indie-pop and impressive musicianship. Her performance provided the perfect lead-in to what would become an unforgettable evening.
When the lights finally dimmed for Boone’s arrival, and the massive LCD screen at the back of the stage crawled through a STAR WARS-esque opening sequence, the energy inside CHI Health Center immediately shifted into overdrive.
From the opening moments of Sorry I’m Here For Someone Else, Boone was in constant motion. Whether sprinting up and down the extended runway stage, engaging with fans lucky enough to be along the barricade, or launching into one of his now-famous backflips and sideflips, he rarely stood still. The singer’s athletic stage presence has become one of his trademarks, and Omaha witnessed plenty of it throughout the night.
Yet for all the headlines his acrobatics generate, Boone’s greatest strength remains his voice. Backed by a full live band, Boone delivered powerful performances of his biggest radio hits while also making room for fan favorites that earned enthusiastic reactions from longtime followers. The band’s contributions added depth and energy to the songs, transforming studio recordings into arena-sized anthems.
A massive LCD screen spanning the rear of the stage amplified the experience, broadcasting live footage of the performance and ensuring every seat in the arena had a close-up view of the action. Combined with the dynamic lighting and Boone’s relentless movement, the production created a visually impressive concert experience without overshadowing the music itself.
The only moments Boone slowed down came when addressing the crowd or settling behind the piano. Those quieter segments provided a welcome contrast to the show’s nonstop pace and showcased another side of his artistry. Seated at the piano, Boone allowed his vocals and songwriting to take center stage, creating some of the evening’s most intimate moments.
