remix of Lana Del Rey’s shimmering and soaring “Summertime Sadness” (Lana Del Rey vs Cedric Gervais) has landed him his first-ever GRAMMY Award nomination in the category of “Best Remixed Recording (Non-Classical).”

“Summertime Sadness” was a highlight of 2013, enchanting dance floors and radio airwaves worldwide to this day. The song impressively reached #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 (a first for Lana Del Rey as well).  It also topped Billboard’s Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart, clinching the #1 spot for five weeks, #2 on the Dance/Electronic Songs Chart, #3 on the Dance/Electronic Digital Songs Chart and #3 Mainstream Top 40 airplay.

Worldwide, the track has generated over 4 million single sales, going platinum in North America, the U.K. and Australia. Moreover, it ascended to #1 on HYPEM, in addition to being Shazam’s #1 track in the U.S., U.K., and Australia. For five weeks, it was the most-aired dance song on Top 40 radio stateside. At Beatport, the song achieved the #1 spot for a staggering seven weeks, while it held strong in the Top 100 for seven months. To date, its video has racked up over 18 million views on the Spinnin’ Records video channel and another 26 million views on its official page. Meanwhile, Soundcloud plays exceed 1.8 million. GEDRIC GERVAIS’ peers have responded in a big way as well. It continues to receive overwhelming DJ support from the likes of such heavy hitters as Tiësto, Armin Van Buuren, Pete Tong and Paul Oakenfold, just to name a few.

CEDRIC GERVAIS has been DJing and producing electronic music since his teens and was the youngest artist to ever play at Paris’ famed nightclub Le Queen.  Today he resides in Miami, FL and has been a staple of the South Beach club scene, holding residencies at Liv and Story in Miami as well as at the Wynn’s Surrender and XS in Las Vegas while DJing around the world.  His last successful chart single was “Molly”—one of 2012’s most commercial dance songs—which landed at #26 on U.K. charts and has racked over 4.3 million YouTube views.  Lana Del Rey has become one of the most exciting and captivating artists in the world, having already sold over five million albums and seven million singles, including her recent release “Young And Beautiful” taken from the soundtrack of the hit movie The Great Gatsby.  A version of the track from CEDRIC GERVAIS is available now.

GIORGIO MORODER
As the founder of disco and an electronic music trailblazer, Giorgio Moroder made his mark as an influential Italian  producer, songwriter, performer and DJ. At 73 years old, Moroder still has his hands in the center of EDM culture, swinging back into the spotlight in 2013 as a guest collaborator on the GRAMMY-nominated Daft Punk album Random Access Memories (“Album Of the Year”), new remixes for Donna Summer, Haim and his Scarface soundtrack, and a newfound station as a live DJ which included major festival slots in Japan, Sweden, Mexico, Brazil and Amsterdam. His latest appearance at HARD’s Day Of The Dead in Los Angeles this past November had LA Weekly’s Katie Bain touting him a “EDM Badass.”

Over the course of his career, Mr. Moroder has worked with some of the most famous names in music including Barbra Streisand, Elton John, Cher, Janet Jackson and David Bowie, just to name a few. He is heavily noted for being the key player in the Queen of Disco Donna Summer‘s rise to fame throughout the 1970s, collaborating with her on her biggest hits including “Love To Love You Baby,” “Hot Stuff” and “I Feel Love.” In 1997, Moroder and Summer won the Grammy Award for “Best Dance Recording” for the song “Carry On.” He recently teamed with Verve records to honor Summer with Love To Love You Donna, a collection of her most notable hits remixed by some of today’s top talent in EDM like Afrojack, Hot Chip, Laidback Luke and Masters at Work.

Giorgio Moroder’s music charted success everywhere the disco craze touched down but he is also responsible for some of the most classic film scores to date including Scarface and Midnight Express, as well as timeless soundtrack numbers like “Take My Breath Away” from the film Top Gun, Irene Cara’s “Flashdance,” Blondie’s “Call Me” for American Gigolo, as well as compositions on films such as The Never Ending Story, Superman III, Rambo III and Beverly Hills Cop II. From these, Moroder has accumulated three Academy Awards, four Golden Globes, two Grammys and more than 100 gold and platinum records. Giorgio Moroder was inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame in 2004.

What’s next? Mr. Moroder will continue his foray into live DJ sets with appearances at Moogfest in April amongst other major festival plays to be announced soon.  He’s also on tap for a Las Vegas residency and will be releasing a new body of musical work and remixes.
