Linkin Park – From Zero World Tour at CHI Health Center, Omaha, Nebraska (Aug 29, 2025)
It was a night of atmosphere and command of the audience. Following a stunning performance from experimental musician, and genre defying polymath Jean Dawson, the band entered the arena promptly at 8:55 PM and delivered a tight, two-hour long performance, wrapping up just after 11:00 PM. The crowd of thousands was visibly energized as Linkin Park returned to Omaha after a 17 year absence as part of their record breaking From Zero World Tour. Fans were eager to experience both nostalgia and fresh soundscapes from the band’s latest chapter.
The setlist balanced deep-cut tracks from their new album, From Zero, with beloved classics from the band’s two decades worth of music. Rail-blazing transitions, rap verses from Mike Shinoda, energetic turntable work by Joe Hahn, blistering drums from new addition Colin Brittain, and layered vocal performances showcased the band’s polished production, true to the From Zero World Tour’s reputation. Bassist Dave Farrell stalked the stage in a professionally casual manor, while touring guitarist Alex Feder smiled and grinned for at the crowd for the duration of the set. Co-vocalist Emily Armstrong hasn’t set foot on an Omaha stage since Dead Sara’s 2015 tour, and her return marked one of the tour’s standout performances from the still new co-lead vocalist. Fans have noted that, much like Chester Bennington before her, Armstrong skillfully blends melodic richness with raw, scream-driven power.
Emotions hit a tearful peak during the 2nd Act of the set as the band played a cover from Mike’s other band; Fort Minor’s “Where’d You Go.”
Linkin Park’s night in Omaha was a dynamic blend of old and new, scattered with a few surprises. No one expected Mike Shinoda to jump off the stage after seeing a young fans sign, and grand the kid’s request of hearing his favorite track, an old demo called “Step Up,” a track that hasn’t been played live in nearly twenty years, well before the fan was even born. Tonight’s performance also included a brutal rendition of “Lies Greed Misery,” a recent addition to this leg of the From Zero World Tour, and cut that had seemingly been retired after a single 2014 performance.
The evening was emotionally charged, expertly executed, and a reminder of the band’s enduring power, even as they explore new territory with fresh voices and fresh sound. Omaha didn’t just witness the return of Linkin Park, we felt their persistence, evolution, and unmistakable spirit. Tonight’s set balanced nostalgia and novelty with tight performances, smooth transitions, and an unbreakable, strong ensemble synergy between each of the band members.
Omaha matched the tour’s signature structure, opening with classics, weaving in new tracks, layering powerful fan favorites, and closing with an emotional encore. Tonight’s performance stood out for its balanced setlist, tight execution, and emotional resonance. The encore delivered a charged finish with fan-favorite staples Papercut, In the End, and Faint, leaving the crowd buzzing.
One attendee simply summed it up: “Amazing concert! Glad to see Mike and the guys back doing what they love. We will always miss Chester, but Emily is an amazing fit and keeps the vitality fresh.”
The collective energy, the tears, and the roar of the crowd made it clear this wasn’t just another concert, it was a celebrated comeback for a band beloved by generations of fans.
