February 18, 2015 – Mini Mansions debut the music video for their latest single “Freakout!” HERE. The song paves the way for their forthcoming full-length The Great Pretenders, out March 24, 2015. This is the first signing and release on T Bone Burnett’s recently launched Electromagnetic Recordings. The 7” single is available for purchase here.

“Freakout!” directed by Mount Elmut aka Matthew Newman [Pixies] sees the Los Angeles trio pair majestic melodies and psychedelically potent piano-punctuated instrumentation with a crafty cut-out narrative. Mini Mansions are no strangers to tripped-out visuals, as evidenced by last month’s clip for “Any Emotions” feat. Brian Wilson, which starred Colin Hanks, and the neonoir-sex-death-psych-interrogation “Death Is A Girl.”

Noisey delightfully describes the band’s sound as “a serpentine, synth-assisted psych-pop groove with echoed canned beats recalling Prince‘s “Raspberry Beret” (tune!).” “Any Emotions” was also a BBC Radio 1 Single of the Week, and Spin dubbed Mini Mansions an “artists to watch” writing, “this psych-rock trio pounds out all of the right notes.”  DIY Magazine summed up the year ahead for the band simply proclaiming, “2015 belongs to Mini Mansions.”

Live, they can’t be touched, says NME. Recently, the band’s collaborator Alex Turner of Arctic Monkeys guested on stage, with NME claiming, “the Arctic Monkeys frontman hasn’t been on a stage this size for years, but even he can’t overshadow a rampant Mini Mansions performance. (9 out of 10).” US tour dates announced below!
