MACHINE KILLER TOUR: 5/16/2024

Static-X, Sevendust, Dope, Lines of Loyalty. May 16th 2024, Omaha, Nebraska. Steelhouse.

Omaha witnessed a relentless assault of sonic power as the MACHINE KILLER TOUR stormed into STEELHOUSE. With a lineup boasting heavyweights like Static-X, Sevendust, DOPE, and Lines of Loyalty, anticipation was high, and the venue was brimming with eager fans ready to be swept away by a night of pure metal mayhem.

Kicking off the night, Lines of Loyalty took to the stage with an electrifying presence that set the tone for the evening. Their blend of melodic hooks and pulverizing riffs instantly captivated the crowd, igniting a mosh pit frenzy that would persist throughout the night.

DOPE seized the momentum, delivering a blistering performance that showcased their signature blend of industrial metal and raw aggression. Frontman Edsel Dope commanded the stage with ferocious energy, his vocals cutting through the air like a razor blade while the band’s relentless onslaught of heavy grooves left the audience headbanging in unison.

As the night progressed, Sevendust unleashed a tidal wave of intensity that threatened to tear the roof off STEELHOUSE. With their trademark blend of melodic sensibility and crushing heaviness, the band delivered a set that was both emotionally resonant and sonically devastating. Tracks like “Enemy” and “Denial” resonated with the crowd, their anthemic choruses echoing through the venue as fans screamed every word back with fervent passion.

And then came the moment everyone had been waiting for; it was time to do the Time Warp again. As the lights dimmed and the anticipation of the night reached its peak, the Evil Disco Pumpkin floated onto the stage to Vincent Price’s introduction of Michael Jackson’s THRILLER. Static-X exploded onto the stage with a ferocity that was nothing short of awe-inspiring. Paying tribute to the late Wayne Static, the band delivered a career-spanning set that celebrated their enduring legacy while simultaneously pushing the boundaries of sonic experimentation.

From classics like “Push It” and “Bled for Days” to newer tracks off their latest album, Static-X commanded the stage with a larger-than-life presence that was impossible to ignore. Frontman Xer0 (Are we still pretending its not Edsel Dope? Because Edsel needs credit for performing two sets every night of the tour.) channeled the spirit of Wayne Static with uncanny precision. Xer0’s manic energy and powerful vocals electrified the crowd from start to finish.

But perhaps the most poignant moment of the night came later during the band’s set as images of Wayne Static filled the stage, serving as a haunting reminder of the impact he had on the world of metal music.

Overall, the MACHINE KILLER TOUR stop in Omaha was nothing short of a triumph, showcasing the enduring power of metal music and reaffirming the bond between artists and fans alike. As the final chords faded into the night, it was clear that this was a concert that would be remembered for years to come.
