While promoting the release of “ROT & RUIN: WARRIOR SMART,” a graphic novel taking place between Maberry’s “DUST & DECAY” and “FLESH & BONE”, on his personal Facebook page, one fan asked “When are we gonna get a movie?” It’s been a question on my mind since first reading Maberry’s short story in a zombie anthology book. Maberry was quick to reply “A movie is in development.”
No word on casting, or when filming will start, but this is the news I’ve been waiting years for.
If you’ve not read Maberry’s “Rot & Ruin Trilogy”, I highly suggest shredding through the novels. The trilogy is a coming-of-age story set during the aftermath of the Zombie Apocalypse.
Maberry’s trilogy has been compared to Catcher In The Rye meets George Romero’s Living Dead movies. After the World War Z fiasco, it’ll be great to have a film live up to the expectations of the source material
