We’re pleased to invite you to the launch of Dereck Higgins new vinyl release of Flyover on March 21st, from 7:00-9:00 pm at Carver Bank, 2416 Lake Street. Dereck is a current Carver Artist-in-Resident, and he’ll be presenting music written for or inspired by Flyover Country, a film that explores the complexities of being openly gay in the Midwest.
In addition to the performance, filmmakers Jim Fields and Shaun Vetick will talk about the use of the music in their production, and Tim Guthrie will join the panel to share about the artwork used for the album covers. To close out the event, Greg Hand, a native Omahan and folk singer will perform music from his latest works. Flyover albums and compact discs will be available for purchase.
Complimentary refreshments and appetizers will also be served by Big Mama’s Sandwich Shop during the release launch.
