Aesthetic Perfection, ‘Til Death                                                                             Metropolis Records                                                                             11 February 2014
Aesthetic Perfection’s Daniel Graves is not one to allow himself or his music to stagnate. Every release has shown an artistic growth and a fearless approach to songwriting. The result is something all too rare in music, where an artist has developed a unique, recognizable sound, without falling into the trappings of clichéd formulaic songwriting. On the new album, ‘Til Death, we find an act exploring the artistic freedom that comes with no longer being willing to answer to anyone but himself.
Leading up to this new record, we saw the release of three drastically different singles, “Antibody,” “The Dark Half,” and “Big Bad Wolf”. In true AP fashion, taken individually, none of the singles give the listener more than an inkling of what to expect from the full LP. But when taken as a whole, the three singles encapsulate the essence of what to expect from ‘Til Death. Beautiful, haunting and eclectic.
Whether it be the IAMX-tinged swagger of “Showtime,” the eerie, almost Depeche Mode vocal patterns of “Lovesick” or the hook-laden dark pop of “Oh, Gloria!,” ‘Til Death shows Graves at his diverse best.

Scaremeister, 31 Spirits                                                                             Metropolis Records                                                                             28 January 2014
“Of my entire career to date, this is my best work without a doubt”- Ken Marshall
Comprised of cEvin Key, Ken ‘hiwatt’ Marshall & Traz Damji, Scaremeister is a dark and deeply haunting approach to the horror/thriller film genre. Consisting of 31 unique “mini-scores” of original sound design, the work is equally compelling as individual tracks or as an album. 31 Spirits is guaranteed to disturb.
“Scaremeister is a project and partnership with two of my best friends and long-term collaborators, cEvin Key and Traz Damji. We made a deal with Groove Addicts in 2007 (now Non-Stop Music/Warner Chappell), to compose a ‘volume’ of film trailer cues for horror movies. The following year we produced 31 cues that were very well received by the film community, being placed in many film trailers, including: Inglorious Bastards, Transformers II, My Bloody Valentine, Book of Eli and Halloween 2 (just to name a few). With the ongoing success of Volume One within the film industry, we decided to release these works to the public so they can be heard outside theaters! We sincerely hope you enjoy Scaremeister’s debut album ’31 Spirits’! -Ken ‘hiwatt’ Marshall

Skinny Puppy, The Greater Wrong Of The Right                                                                             Metropolis Records                                                                             28 January 2014
2004 saw Skinny Puppy release The Greater Wrong of the Right, the ninth album & first new full-length LP since 1996’s The Process. Rather than a rehashed revisiting of the band’s earlier sound, The Greater Wrong of the Right showed the band take a breathtaking continuation forward. The album was an innovative, urgent statement that showed time and loss had not dulled the urgency of innovation of the band.
Metropolis Records is thrilled to not only reissue the album, but also to announce its release on vinyl. Remastered and pressed as heavy weight vinyl in a gatefold jacket with a digital download card enclosed.

Seabound, Speak In Storms                                                                             Metropolis Records                                                                             11 February 2014
Seabound, the moniker under which the duo of Frank Spinath (vocals) and Martin Vorbrodt (electronics) collaborate, is one of the most highly regarded acts in the dark electronic scene. A unique ability to combine cutting edge, modern music and emotional vocals and lyrics to create an atmospheric, compelling work separate Seabound from its contemporaries. Speak In Storms is possibly Seabound’s strongest effort to date. It is cohesive, with the ominous tension started in early tracks like “For Life” and “Contraband.” The tension keeps building through to the danceable “Everything,” which seems to be a deep exhalation of breath, a release. The relief is short lived, as “Lair” builds once again from the darker atmospherics, taking the listener once again into the moody world of Seabound. Speak in Storms is a compelling piece of work; it’s the sound of broken dreams, of loss and anger, and, of course, love.
