This week’s Wizards of the Coast spoilers for the upcoming Khans of Tarkir set further confirm that this block with revolve around tri-color “tribe” decks. WotC had teased us months ago that this block would include something that the players have been asking for years that would return to the game.
While I’m not fond of playing three colors in my decks, I’m intrigued to see how much this will balance out the playing field for mono decks and how much easier it will be for current players who splash a third color.
I think it’s great that the format went from “devotion” to a single color to favoring a three colored deck.
I doubt this will be a 92 card set though.
Khans also brings back the Morph mechanic, and introduces two new mechanics; Prowess and Raid. Prowess gives target creature an additional +X/+X ntil end of turn uwhen a noncreature spell is cast, while Raid allouws you to deal damage to target creature or playing if this creature was cast after you attacked during your turn.
