| The Walking Dead Wins Emmy For Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup This weekend, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences held the 2012 Creative Arts Emmys, and The Walking Dead was honored with the award for Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup for the Season 2 Premiere “What Lies Ahead”.
The award — the second Emmy for The Walking Dead — was presented to Special FX Makeup Designer and Co-Executive Producer Greg Nicotero and his KNB EFX team, who together bested stiff competition from FX’s American Horror Story, HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, HBO’s Game of Thrones and ABC’s Once Upon A Time.
Mad Men and Breaking Bad are still up for a number of Primetime Emmy Awards across categories such as Outstanding Drama, Best Actor and Best Actress, which will be presented during a ceremony airing Sun., Sep. 23 on ABC.
